Leica Geosystems revolutionized the GNSS community in 2017 with the first GNSS Rover to integrate a calibration free tilt compensation RTK Rover, the GS18T. It was featured in the xyHt Publication here. Others are still trying to catch up!
But now Leica has added full imaging into the GS18 family with the GS18I. Simply walk and record images in realtime, measure points in the field or in the office via points or dense point cloud. Safety, productive, innovative, traceable .. think of all the possible applications! Pipelines, buildings, curbs, roads .. all done safely from up to 10m away with a GNSS tilted!
Sensor fusion of GNSS, IMU and a camera come together to create Visual Positioning technology, resulting in a GNSS RTK rover so powerful that it enables you to measure what you see. GS18 I has all the functionality of the Leica GS18 T: in addition to Visual Positioning, users can for example map points with either tilted or levelled pole.
